2018 Oregon Cabernet Franc | Walla Walla AVA | Oregon

The 2018 vintage of our Oregon Cabernet Franc is simply spectacular!

Our Oregon Cab Franc was sourced from two of the most prolific vineyards located on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla wine region. This sultry blend of 100% Cabernet Franc combines 18-20 year-old east and west-facing vines grown in silt loam soils at 865-880 feet in elevation. It was made in a low alcohol Loire Valley style.

Oregon Cabernet Franc from the Seven Hills Estate Vineyard in Walla Walla - Spectral Cellars Wines

The final wine is stunningly complex and thought-provoking. The grapes were grown and produced from New World terroir, but the wine is Old-World by design.

It has a low-alcohol elegance not often found in single varietal Oregon Cabernet Franc from the Walla Walla region. Extremely limited, it is a true tribute to the collected wines out of the Loire Valley, but showcases bold, dark fruit flavors with plenty of structure and minerality.

Tasting Notes:

In the glass, you are met with compelling aromatics of pencil shavings and bing cherry. The palate is electric and feels of velvet. It is refined, yet firm and lush, with cherry, bright plum, and spice notes. It is a stunning lower-alcohol wine that drinks more like a Loire Valley release than a wine from the Walla Walla AVA. This Oregon Cabernet Franc will age and enhance beautifully in the cellar for ten plus years.
